A first look at sports technology, with the buyer’s verdict attached.
First Cap’s members back sports technology at the first line of the cap table. For venture partners, that means seeing companies early, with the buyer’s view already formed.
What we look for
Companies that sell to clubs, leagues, teams and rights holders: fan data and engagement, media and rights technology, performance and health, venue and ticketing operations. In sport, the hardest part is the first enterprise buyer. That is where we start.
What a partnership looks like
- First lookSeed and Series A rounds in sports technology, early, before most of the market sees them.
- A buyer’s verdictEach company is reviewed by the club, league and team executives on our buyer panel. With the founder’s agreement, you see the panel’s view in summary, never who said what.
- Introductions under wayEvery company members back is owed three named buyer introductions within 90 days, so by the next round it has already been in the room with its buyers.
- The rounds that followCo-invest alongside our members, or lead the round that follows.
- A standing arrangementFor funds that want one, a scout or first-look arrangement in sports technology.
The buyer panel is drawn from commercial, finance and innovation leads at clubs, leagues, teams, governing bodies and venue operators, across football, motorsport, tennis and padel, golf and basketball.
